hi all , not been on in a century
looking for some info / advice on a couple of pairs of shoes i am considering on buying
i have narrowed it down to 2 pairs, Footjoy DNA or Ecco Biom Spiked.
do any of you have experience of the sizes etc, ie , i heard that the DNA are about a size bigger than normal, any truth in this?
any info on both shoes will be appreciated

I have found that all my FJ shoes have been the correct size. Altough I haven't owned a pair of DNA. My current shoes are FJ contour

I have a pair of Ecco Street and various Footjoy shoes.

Sizes seem to be the same to me, although if I had to be picky I would say the Ecco are fractionally narrower fitting.

Hi there,

Tried on the DNAs in the pro-shop at a local driving range last week. Was told they've been very popular and as a result they had limited sizes left. I was also told that they are big made therefor be careful to try on the shoes. I know I'm 8.5 in footjoys as I've had a few pairs, but for the DNAs an 8 was fine, an 8.5 would've been too big.

In terms of the spiked Ecco Bioms I've had mine for a couple of yours now and they're really comfortable with great support and are very well made with good materials (yak leather and robust lining and sole). Although they're quite expensive they're great shoes that I would highly recommend.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the replies guys

MC72, are the sizes of the Ecco normal or are they on the small side, info on another review indicated this , whats your opinion??

Hi Boabski,

Checked my my Ecco shoes and they're 42, which is an 8. Thus suggests that they're a bit bigger made.

My footjoys (synerG, XPS-1, Dryjoy, and BOA laced footjoys) have all been 8.5.

I'm not a big fan of Adidas shoes but got a great deal on a pair of older style adi-pure earlier this year which had good quality grain leather, and they've been very comfortable. I've noticed some good deals on the adi-pure that might be worth considering.

I've got Ecco Bioms and had to get a size 10 whereas my usual size is 9.

That said, the (Yak?) leather is so soft that I suspect a size 9 might have stretched to fit within a relatively short time.

I have a worn the DNA's for at least 4 months & they are brilliant, so very comfortable. It's a pity they don't make them in black 11 wide otherwise I would buy them to go with my blue/white ones.:)

I've not tried the DNA, but I've had three other pairs of FJ shoes, the actual shoe size was the same as my regular shoes and fine each time but the problem I had was in the width fitting. The first two were bought in a Medium width, which seemed OK when I tried them, but no good after 12 holes, pinched like crazy. My latest pair are a Wide fit and perfect.
