I treated myself to the new Adidas Gripmore Shoes a few months ago and I have to say how pleased and happy I've been with their comfort and grip, but, on Saturday they got a bit wet for the first time, they are 100% waterproof (2yr guarantee) and were excellent on the day, but after drying them and wiping them clean as I do with everything immediately when I get home, the shoe has become quite "crinkled" and lost its new smooth look! I wouldn't have an issue with this after a full winter, a full years wear or excessive use, but for their first outing in some rain, I have to say I am a little bit disappointed because I am always concious how clean and good my shoes look.

Anyone else experienced this with their shoes?

I've always used Adidas shoes and never had an issue. I haven't tried the grip more yet however I would be as you are disapointed that they did this after just one outing in the wet.

Maybe an email to Adidas to see what they say? May get a replacement pair sent out?

That is exactly what has happened to everyone of my shoes - that's just normal wear

Looks like normal creasing across the foot, possibly due to too wide a shoe and that may be a factor in the creasing.

How did you dry them, looks like they have been on a radiator to me

you'd be wrong then, simply in my hall after I wiped them with a tea towel, they weren't really wet by then as I didn't get home for 3hrs after I'd finished and the last 5 holes were in the dry. The next day they looked all crinkled!

They look exactly how my Gripmores so and my adicross have done before that - the leather will naturally crease like that

my Nike Contril ll's are still smooth after 2 winters!

And they might be different leather and made differently - looking at the picture of them it is a different type of shoe

I haven't had a pair of golf shoes yet that don't have a crease in the leather.

Robin, seriously mate. That's normal.
I'd personally be more worried about the wrinkles around your mooey than a few wrinkles on a pair of golf shoes

I know, but I really look after my shoes and I've certainly not seen this kind of reaction happen so quickly after their first exposure to the wet. Everything else I've owned (shoe brands) have been spikes and more sturdy and still have no creases or crinkles after 2yrs or more of wear and being worn in soaking conditions, this is why this seemed so quick and wanted to know if it was the norm with spikeless and soft leather uppers as for me, its ruined their smooth, soft initial look which is what drew me to them!

I've worn them continually since buying them a few months ago all in dry conditions and no creases, as soon as they got wet this was the overnight reaction!

It all depends on the type of leather, and style of shoe Robin.
I have 3 or 4 pairs of FJ's in white that don't react the way yours have. But they are more the "traditional" type of shoe, rather than a "trainer" type, which these appear to be.
I wouldn't worry mate.

I reckon my OCD is kicking-in mixed with years of having to have spotless shoes all the time, this is new territory for me having to "accept" something that doesn't like right or nice and crack-on!

Feck me!! Remind me not to sell you a car

HID won't take me shopping any more after I asked the girl at the cheese counter to slice a bit off the cheese that looked dry at 1 end and then had her square it all up :o

:)

Then you really need to avoid asking to see the baps at the bakery counter

Nothing wrong with expecting high quality goods, I'd take them back if your not happy and explain that you expect better after one round in the rain. Exchange them for another pair of Lunars.

These infact...

I've got spikes, I wanted spikeless, they are extremely comfortable but their look has changed in my opinion drastically and I'm worried what they'll look like after a few rounds in the wet?
