There was a thread a while ago detailing the meticulous care shown by several people given to their shoes.

Curse, you all.

I've now got the bug and am obsessed with clean shoes.

Toothbrush for cleaning the ridges thoroughly? Yup.

Pack of baby wipes to clean them after use? Yup.

Proper shoe polish and brushes? Yup.

I now cannot stop cleaning my shoes. They are like new. Especially, now that I've bought new laces for them and new in-soles. They are as good as new.

I can't believe this. After about 4-5 years of not having cleaned them once. My idea of cleaning was to step in a puddle to get the worst of the mud off them, Years of neglect, leaving them in the back of the car or just chucking them in the cupboard under the stairs.

So, thanks a bunch, you lot. You've made me a shoe fetishist.

Each to their own, I think there may be a website for that :D
Seriously, i always give them a good clean and they will last a lot longer.

Call me anal, but I get a great deal of pleasure out of cleaning my shoes, Clubs, (I wax them with Zymol Car Wax) Clothes have to be immaculate. Actually I'm not sure how much I like Golf, I just love the stuff you can buy!

Console yourself with the fact that by looking after them well they will last you a lot longer.

Golf shoes are not cheap but given the miles you walk in them it is a valid expense. Good idea to make them last as long as you can.

Cleaned mine before playing a couple of times back. Pristine they looked, you could see your face in them. :D

By the end of the first hole they looked exactly like they did before I started cleaning them!

What was the point of that then? :D

hrc.... did you not feel a little embarrassed going on to a course in dirty shoes ???? .... me,, everything has to be clean...a bit of pride ;)

Not at all. Never bothered me in the slightest. But now, the thought just gives me palpitations! :)

Murg - you should try and keep the ball on the short grass, and not go tramping thru all the sh1te all the time ! :D

Where's the fun in that?

To be honest, at our place, the fairways and greens are almost dry - the paths between holes are like a swamp.
