Without making any comment whatsoever on her politics...but simply on a human level I am sad to hear this morning of the passing from us of Shirley Williams. She always seemed to me to be a decent and principled person - and when she spoke on any matter I listened.

Bit before my time politically speaking, but I remember she was one of the local mp's to me when I was at school and I remember she always seemed very popular. And from the tributes it sounds like she was one of those rare breed of politicians who you could actually trust. RIP.

I'd agree with the above. A shame she lost her best years to political oblivion but I understand why she made that choice.

There are good people on all sides, we often forget that. She was one of them.
