I've mentioned that I have lost the 8 iron from my set and had replaced it with a MP60 8 iron, which looks great but....the shaft is different and i cant swing it well, the timing is totally out.

My regular irons have the original True Temper 'Release' S shaft.
This MP60 has a True Temper 'Dynamic gold' S300 in it.

Im guessing my set have stiff shafts then (?) and the MP60 a regular one (?).

The MP60 feels much heavier and i really have to wait on the clubhead to 'catch up' on the shot. When i manage to wait on it enough its a great club.

Would a shaft change fix this? And, does anyone think that a set of MP60's or similar would be viable with a better suited shaft?

The shaft on your MP-60 is a stiff shaft and so are the ones on your other ones. Dont really know what it could be but im sure theres some people on here that know about shaft technology so ill let them give you some advice saving me giving you false or maybe correct information :D :D

You have 2 different things going on. The heads are different - MP60 is a pro standard club, CT is a game improvement, and the shafts. The Release shaft is a softer shaft, basically designed for senior players, which is also lighter and gets the ball up faster. It really is very different in every respect.

I think the shaft is the bigger issue here, as the 8 iron in the 60 should not be so difficult to hit. If you want another reshaft, try to get a matching release. Otherwise maybe email TT and ask for a suggestion for an alternative, probably a lightweight such as Dynalite Gold.

Thanks lads, I want to try the MP60 with a shaft that suits me. I like the feedback/feel off the face when i have hit it nicely. I feel as though the problem with it is the shaft - the waiting on it to catch up.

Who's TT though?
