My red headed beast now has a stiffer shaft. :o

Yep, got a new shaft in my covert tour today, bought it a while back and finally got round to getting it fitted.
It's a diamana ahina 70x flowerband with the ion plated finish, it's so purrty.
Playing 0.5" shorter than standard. Set at 10.5 degree loft.

It feels really nice, was going well on the sim at lunchtime in inplay golf in Bristol, really looking forward to getting it on the course this weekend.

Well pleased with it.

Here's a pic:

Very nice!

No dollying off the tee for you now though - that shaft will need a fair amount of clubhead speed and full on attack mode!

I've not had an xstiff before, but have hit this shaft in the ping anser and liked it. It actually feels pretty smooth, I was a bit worried about how much shaft it is.
SS is 110 according to the sim. Hoping to be able to give it a rip and the shaft keep up with me, think I will be able to!
Getting 160 BS, 12-14 launch, spin still a little high at 3000rpms ish but it's out there well enough and dispersion was pretty good. Played pebble on the sim and hit a lot of fairways.

Can't wait to get it outside an hit it in real life, see if the results stand up!

Results were still nice if I eased off it a bit to 105mph as so don't feel like I'll have to jump on it with every swing.

And down at 105mph did the spin drop a little?

What sort of carry distance was that showing?

I deliberately didn't mention distance because I don't want to get drawn into an argument!
But since you ask, right around 265-270 yards on decent hits.

The distance you hit the ball Stuey you don't need the additional forum yards!! :whoo:

Glad you got this shaft eventually

Cheers bud. You give it a fair old whack yourself, particularly with that strong 3w as I recall...

You have a good memory, I was umming and ahhing over this shaft at the ping putter day last May!

Surely youd be lower than 17 handicap if you hit the ball that far?

Shaft looks nice by the way!

Consistency always my problem... Lots of practice over the winter and am hoping to see my handicap tumble when we start playing qualifiers again. At the minute 36points is a bad round for me.

Played 9 this morning and am well happy with it.
Hit driver on 5 holes. Didn't actually put a good swing on it til the 9th, but all my bad ones were playable and around 250. Then the 9th off forward tees is playing 295 to the middle. Hit a decent one, bounced in front, rolled across the green and ended up just off the right, middle of the green. Chipped up and holed the putt for a birdie and walked off with a smile on my face. 20 points with a blob where I pulled an approach into a bush and couldn't find it.

Trajectory was a lovely, boring flight. Very happy.
