Shaft Adapters

Anyone have an idea if it is easy to change the Adapter on a shaft???:mmm:
Put the bolt back In the adapter . Heat with gun use bolt to pull adapter off shaft. The ferrule will melt and deform so a replacement is needed= Put it in some hot water to get it on the shaft.==some adapters have an integral ferule and these can be tricky i.e T/made .Make sure the tip size of shaft matches adapter i.e .335 or .370

Without the right tool and assuming you want to retain the structural integrity of the shaft tip, removing a shaft adapter is not easy and you will most likely fail at first attempt... and most follow-up attempts as well. With the right tool, removing a shaft adapter is very easy with a bit of practice.

Edit: this assumes you mean removing a graphite shaft from an adapter.

As mentioned above, saving the ferrule is far from guaranteed. However, the Ping Anser / G25 adapter should be given special mention here as it is aluminium with no plastic ferrule so you can pop them on and off shafts very easily and quickly without any ferrule related worries. I have one on the bench at home... but without an Anser or G25 to put it in. I believe the Adams Fast12 LS and Adams LS drivers from the past couple of years also had integral aluminium ferrules. This is great for your average tinkerer, but not even a consideration for most.
