When I think back on the great Golfers of my lifetime there have been many greats but Seve was something special, he had a presence and passion I doubt we will see again.

Seve was my hero growing up, it was so sad what happened to him and it still hurts to think about.

The guy was a genius with a wedge in his hand.
Same for me. Funny the only club he struggled with a was driver but then that gave him more opportunity to show his magical recovery skills.

Not just a totally unique golfing talent but such an incredible personality who had a fantastic relationship with his fans. Evident from the first Open in 1976.

He did for golf in Europe what Palmer did for it in America. He brought it alive with his style and charisma. Made it something non golfers could connect with and enjoy.

Shame to think a whole generation of golfers is growing up without having seen him play. If you weren't old enough to do so please look out some old stuff on YouTube or where ever.

I know someone who played in the same group as him in the first round of a British Open. He said he had a presence unlike anyone he had ever met, when he walked into the Clubhouse Bar everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at him.
