Did anyone have a chance to watch Seve the movie? Any reviews?

Sorry no review as I haven't seen it yet. Thought it was more of a DVD watch rather than the Cinema tbh.

Well as I appear to be the only one on here who has actually seen it I would have to disagree. The story of the most charismatic golfer to emerge in the last 50 years benefits from the big screen experience.

So was it good, bad, too long, not in details, did the actors plays the part of him accurately. I'm glad you saw it, but the OP did ask for reviews.

Cheers

Reviewed it on a previous thread, see Post #2.

Happy to repeat though. The mixing of the dramatisation of his early life with the recorded coverage of his playing days works well and the lad they found to play "young Seve" is convincing both as a golfer and a young teenager.

I thought in advance that it might prove to be too long but, in fact, it seemed to fly by.

It's a very good film, enjoyed it a lot. As did the wife. The lad they have in playing young Seve is brilliant, has him mannerisms and swing to a tee!

Apparently the young lad is a 3 handicapper but had never acted before!! So they had to teach him to act rather than swing.

Could not find the review thread.. But looks like it might be a DVD for me too.. £3 at Asda before Xmas.

It's weirdly set out, kind of flips between the acting bits to then showing old footage (majority of which we've prob all seen before). There's a great bit of when he got his BBC SPOTY Lifetime Achievement award from Jose Maria Olazabal, after the live link to the BBC cuts out, it appears they are still filming in Spain. Nothing major, just never seen that bit before.

Not up to Senna, but it's a right good watch. Led to tears from almost everyone in the cinema.

Oh aye, me and the guy in front of me both got told off by our wives. Whenever the old footage came on we both turned to our better halves with "This is when he did.......".
