Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale

Heading down that way in April for a wee break, hopefully squeeze in a game or two. Question is has anyone played these 2 courses - Settle looks very picturesque online but is that the reality? Any other courses in the east cumbria/west yorkshire vicinity I should be investigating?? Not sure we've got any forumers from that area to advise!

Birdie, I have played Kirkby Lonsdale. It is quite a hilly rather than undulating parkland course. Also it is very susceptible to the weather in that it does not drain particularly well. Have you thought about Skipton? If you are up in Cumbria you could also try Silloth on Solway which is a really nice links.
