Went into my local AG looking for black shoes, not wanting to walk around muddy courses in white shoes. Explained that I have a wide foot to be told all the shoes are narrow. I asked about Footjoy wide fitting, expecting to be measured and sorted. But I was told none available come back next summer. What atrocious service do they want to collapse as well. Anyone else had experience trying to get a wide fitting shoe.

Service or lack off at American Golf - NO WAY???!!! heheheh

Your description is particularly rubbish of them though...

Maybe you should of mentioned the Branch, bit unfair to have a go at the whole company, people have good and bad experiences with all sorts of things.
My nearest Branch in Sunderland are excellent and have never had an issue with them.

My branch in Coventry is friendly, personal, attentive and not afraid to price match to get the business, so all-in-all, they are excellent

Getting wide shoes is tricky. I have a wide right foot, left is wide buy just about okay, and tend to struggle. I have just bought a pair of Puma's which are perfect on my left foot and just pinch the little toe on my right but I am pretty confident that as it is only slight that when the shoes have been worn a few times it will not be an issue. I have had much tighter ones before that have taken a while to soften but this pinch is minimal. I would say that they are slightly wider than my previous FJ shoes.

I think that was more a case of bad personal service by someone who a) couldn't be bothered or b) you caught on a bad day. No excuse for it though. Like others I've had some very good service at American Golf and they are always very helpful when it comes to trying clubs out. I also like the price match that they offer. Had a few bargains.

Adidas also do wide fitting. Maybe just look around or try again. Hopefully you get new shoes soon.

I went in and asked for a price on a gokart trolley. His response was " yeh right. Like they'd let you on a golf course driving a go cart"

Email their customer service department.

The only way staff will be dealt with is if people raise the issues.
Coming on here and having a pop is great for stress relief but not for resolving the issue.
They may send you a voucher! ;)

I've had no problems getting wide fitting footjoys. I order them online, as I know my size in the AQL, Dryjoys and Sofjoys.

Adidas do a wide fitting, buy not as good as footjoy for my feet.

I have one foot bigger than the other. Recently I won a pair of Footjoy shoes at a golf day. I was able to go online, choose style & colours & specify what size & fitting I wanted for each foot. I chose narrow 8½ for one & 8 for the other. I assume that they offer this service to the public. A word of warning, both shoes are on the tight side & need a bit of stretching. I would advise ordering a half size bigger.

In their defence, the shop cant be expected to have all styles, colours, sizes, widths from every manufacturer in stock.
If you have a look at the online shops most of them only stock 'regular' width.
Having said that, there's no reason why he couldn't have ordered them for you though.

Poor form but very much branch specific. New Malden as an example is truly awesome, Purley however total s+*t and I'd rather not play than purchase anything from there!

I've had some well documented (on here) bad experience at several local stores. However in their defence the store at Camberley is now far better and the staff seem much more helpful. The one at Bird Hills is still very poor and seems to have less and less stock on the infrequent visits

AG @ Livingston are very good, great guys and very helpful.

As for wide fitting or different sizes left and right shoes, try either adidas or FJ on-line custom options where you can specify L&R separately

When ever I go into the Sheffield branch the customer service is pretty good.
How ever I remember when I first took up the game, I went in for a 3w,the guy said I had a "good looking swing".
I have no idea how he kept a straight face whilst saying it.
