At the start of the season I was playing quite well with the odd good round but then I bought new shoes and since then I cant seem to hit anything. I am topping, sh*****g and generally playing like a muppet and I am wondering if its the new shoes. Dont get me wrong, they are comfy but I dont feel stable when swinging.

The Old ones were Nike Air bubble things and the new ones are FJ Dryjoy pods.

Can't really believe you are asking this Andy!! :D

There was me thinking that no one actually took notice of any of the horse shite the shoe companies claim.....'wear the shoes that won Padraig 3 majors'....aye,whatever!

Al, Harvey I am at my wits end ... I have a 36 holer with a customer on Tuesday and I cannot chop round the way I have been. It will cost me a fortune in beer vouchers if I do.

Am gonna polish the Nike's and see what happens.

That’s what to do, then grip and rip………..top up the wallet tho.... :D

I have a pair of Dryjoy Pods, and my left ankle kept on collapsing on through swing. Especially on mats or hard tee areas. The things were like playing in high heels.

I've since got a pair of Reelfit Contours. Supurb. So much more stable and I feel more stable as well, which gives me the confidence to swing. Which I didn't have with the Pods.

So yes. I found that shoes do make a difference and will never buy a pair of 'high heels' again.
