I used to be a HGK/Course manager and I can assure you that the sons, daughters and friends of people living in very expensive housing surrounding the courses are equally capable of doing that sort of damage.

He may well be. Equally it could be bored middle class kids with "nowt better to do", or a disgruntled ex member or a member of staff, or even the greenkeepers partner who thinks he's having an affair. Who knows! The point is, it's not useful and serves no purpose.

A little bit extreme methinks for an act of vandalism which in a relatively short time will be almost forgotten about - nature being a great healer. The eejits who did this are just that - not really bad or nasty folks, just bored idiots with little respect for the property or feelings of others - and not really caring or appreciating that to some of us this sort of thing is upsetting.

I worked out many moons ago that the worst thing you can do about golf course vandalism is to give it any publicity.
