Sergio Garcia

At the moment he's playing in the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond.
Why is he your favourite golfer? You must enjoy watching golfers spitting into the hole!

Well i just think he's a great golfer, Seems like a really frendy bloke plus he's soooo attractive :) i didnt think he was the open but i'm very pleased tp hear that he is. just made my day :)

Sergio has promised a lot and produced very little. I like him but he is just a better version of Ian (THE KNOB) Poulter. I wish golfers would be judged by their ability and not how ridiculous they can dress !!!

I can't condone the spitting thing, i don't like it when Tiger does it either.

But...Sergio's got game, look past the clothes and this boy can play , if he can sort his putting out he can be up their with the best. People forget he is still only 27 and has his best years ahead of him. I also think he has played in every Ryder Cup since he turned pro ?

Yes, but Garcia actually spat into the hole! Does Tiger do that? He was also fined for kicking over one of sponsor's advertisements at the Swiss Open a couple of years ago.
Recently Garcia was reported in the press here in Spain as saying he was considering a switch to professional football.
He did have the modesty to say he would start with 'a small club'. Not a nice guy.

ONLY 27 !!!!!!!!!! Don't make me laugh !!!!! He will never achieve HALF of what Monty, Langer or Lyle has but for some reason he is the prodigal son in the eyes of the media. I honestly think Justin Rose is a more complete player.

Easy madandra, Monty's my fave player too and he has something in common with Sergio.... passion. Unfortunately, Sergio's got time on his side and will probably win more major's than Monty.

My point is this, i just think he is a great player and good to watch. Give me a firey player like Sergio, Monty or Fasth over the rest of the top class pro's anyday !

He's only 27 and has already turned to a belly putter, this is not a good sign. No-one's ever won a major using one. He has the talent tee to green but I fear his putting will always be dodgy, that will prevent him winning the big ones when the pressure is really on. The ability to hole putts is not so trainable, it's more a natural talent. The older you get the more nervy your putting becomes, something to do with remembering more missed putts and also your aggression diminishing.

Yay!!!! Garcia is in the lead !!!! V happy at the mo. Fingers crossed for 2moz. I felt he played rather well today and had a smile on his face which was great to see. x

There's always a first time, Birdieman. I thought Sergio's stroke looked great again today. And I do hope he wins the Open tomorrow. Think he deserves a major.

Don't think he went to the belly putter to avoid the twitches like most people though. He was bringing it inside the line with a conventional putter so he may go back if he sorts that out.

Didn't Singh win any of his majors with the belly putter? You've got me thinking.

John
He certainly went very close. I cant decide whether he putted poorly or not on Sunday, there were certainly 2 or 3 poor ones in the middle of the round, 73 round Carnoustie is a good score but I think putting is still the weakest part of Garcia's game.

Its the pressure. When the pressure is on it manifests itself more on the putting than on any other part of the game. That's because putting requires very relaxed muscles if the twitches are to be avoided.

I think that Garcia would have had a better chance of winning The Open if he had started the final round in Stricker's place, 2 shots behind. He's not a defender, he's a Seve. He's got to have someone to catch and he didn't get this until it was too late.
