I was just watching the BMW Championship from Illinois and saw Sergio Garcia taking his 2nd at a par 5. He was just at the start of his downswing when some winker (sp) screamed out 'Go Tiger' causing him to fat the shot.
When will the authorities start chucking these idiots out, they're killing it for me.
10/10 to Sergio for not totally losing it.

I think if I ever did go to one of the tours events in the states (which I won't) I'd lose my patience quite quickly and as soon as one of these cretins shouted out 'chewbacca' or whatever I'd immediately shout 'shut up you sad loser', which would hopefully be greeted with applause from both spectators and players alike.

i saw it and thought it was harsh. Not sure it affected his shot though as wasn't attacking the green. That said, unfortunately I thi I he's been targeting after the recent actions of his own.

If they had shouted it after he had played his shot I would tend to agree with you.
But anything shouted during a golfers swing I would count as abuse

The opening title is misleading, unsportsmanlike behaviour from the crowd definatly, distracted yes.

Fair play to Sergio though, anyone else would have smashed the guy who shouted it!
The marshals should sort it? Surely?

This is why I prefer watching the European tour theses day, it may not have the big names playing but the shouting on the PGA Tour is really starting to annoy me and it ends up spoiling it.

Oh and not to add the courses look the same week in week out.
