Premiered tonight, got to be well worth getting out to see the over 5000 hours of footage sifted through to make the film.
What a driver and what great memories. My personal fave was his holding off Mansell at Monaco for a half a dozen laps with his tyres just about down to the cloth!!

Oh, and the time he was nicked on the M4 for speeding and the copper apparently said "who do you think you are, Aryton Senna?!?"

Just read his biography - over used but the term legend / genius but in his case it's justified.

Need to see this film but may wait till it's on DVD

GBC

Fantastic driver and one of the best of all-time. But his legacy was tainted by deliberately causing an accident in Suzuka to win the World Championship by taking Prost out. I've no time for that French t**t but what Senna did was just wrong on so many levels.

In the immortal words of Al Davis "Just Win, Baby" ;)

Its in cinamas from today? I Have going to the pictures as I am a smoker but for this docu/film I will be going.

The man is a legind for sure but he was not a nice person as I understand it. I think you have to be a bit of an ass to win more than one championship though.

Of course you do, just look at Schuey :D

SEVEN times world champion Michael Schumacher you mean? Ye hes an ass but a sporting god at the same time!! Damon and Jac tried to run him off the road mind you, not cool!!

I can't remember who did it first but Prost also did the same to Senna to become world champion

Always think Senna is over hyped, Michael Schumacher won more and my opinion is he was a better driver.

I agree but Michael did have more time.

I think a lot is to do with the car in F1, look at the Red Bulls and Mclaren's. Jenson Button was always there or there about's till he went to Braun and won the title with a cracking car. Then the Red Bull's put an awesome car together and they dominated.

Personally think he was, along side Jim Clark and Bob's mate Fangio, the best ever. If you ask other drivers who raced in his era, the majority seem to say he was the fastest and got the most out of his car. Others such a Lauda and Schumacher were more calculating, but didn't drive on the limit like Senna.

Michael drove over the limit in many many races, making up time that no other driver in history could have.

Comparing drivers from vastly different eras is like comparing apples and oranges, its not doable.

That said, when you look at old GPs and footage on YouTube of Senna he is a very busy driver at the wheel, he makes 10 moves of the wheel on every turn and 10 blips of the loud pedle. There was no one like him and that is why there is a film of his life.

I dont think there will be a film of Michaels or anyone else for that matter.

I agree you can't compare drivers from different eras, so it is always going to be about opinions. I would mention that the older drivers were in cars nothing like as safe as those now driven, and their bravery was unbelievable. A friend of mine was Mike Hawthorne's mechanic, and he says he lived life to the full because he almost expected to die on the track.

So sad that he died in a road accident on the Hogs back near his home in Farnham.

Not as good as Damon Hill, who was all over him in Japan, in one of the wettest races ever.

Presumably you're joking !!...Damon's a nice bloke but was a very overated driver. Fortunately, the year he won the drivers championship his car was vastly superior to any other at the time.
