Semi-Golf Holiday

Guys, I've talked the GF into a semi-golf holiday.

i.e. I'm allowed to play every other day in the mornings.

I'm looking for something probably no more than 4-5 hours flight, for 7-10 days in June\July, nice and warm near the beach. Prob 4*-5* accommodation. something nice and quiet where I can just crash by the pool or beach when I'm not playing.

Any recommendations for locations, hotels, courses etc etc.

Preferably something that's not overrun with kids.

Thanks

Turkey gets a great name for golf now.

Resorts with beautiful golf courses and excellent hotels with pools, know a couple of people who have been to Turkey and raved about it, also not too expensive although the Euro may now dictate differently.

I was all set to go to Turkey at the end of the month and relly looking forward to it. Then for no apparent reason the flights were cancelled which meant instead of a Friday departure all we could get was a Wednesday flight.
Unfortunately not all of the party could re-arrange their schedules so we had to cancel. Perhaps next year.
Incidentally, the Euro is not currencey of Turkey so shouldn't be a problem.
If I were to choose a 5* holiday with beaches/pools and few kids, I would recommend Quinta do Lago http://www.quintadolago.com/portal/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=9 in the Algarve.

Can't go far wrong with Vegas :D

I love Vegas, go at least once a year. But not for golf yet, usually poker.

I'll be there again in Sept, so might take the clubs this time now I'm playing.

I was there last Sept for my 40th, but I'd only been playing about a month so wasn't brave enough to give it a go.

It's daft really, before I started playing last year I've been to Vegas at least once a year for the past 5-6 years and Scottsdale probably 3-4 times in the last 8 years. :D

Not much really Homer. Just sit by the pool all day and get a tan.

I've a pretty full on job so my mid year break tends to be pretty docile. Sleep, Sun, Food then Repeat until I go home

Tenerife sounds good. Been a few times. I'll check it out.

Can anyone recommend any of the golf travel companies ?

I'd vote for Turkey too.
A few of my mates have been a couple of times and raved about the courses, food etc.
Don't think the Euro is used in Turkey is it?

Turkey was one of my original ideas after reading some good things about it in the mag's recently.

GF has vetoed it, doesn't like it there for some reason.

Don't want to push my luck on that one. ;)

The GF has set her heart on going to Morocco this year, it's not my ideal destination so i've been working the angle of "I don't wanna go there, however if there was a round or 2 during the week I may come round" she's picked the hotel and after having a look into it there are a few excellent looking tracks around Agadir.
Relatively cheap too!
