Hi all,

Anyone sold clubs on Golfbidder?

I've sent them a set of irons which I can now see for sale on the website and I'm expecting to receive a cheque for them in a couple of days.

They've downgraded the head condition from 7 to 6 compared to the quote, however I haven't received any messages saying they want to offer a lower amount.

Can I expect to receive the full amount they quoted if I haven't received a counter offer? Or are they at liberty to send a lower amount without my agreement?

The reason I want to know now is that I have another set of irons I'm considering sending them but I'll think twice if they can lower offers without seller approval.

Many thanks.

I've sold to them a number of times when I couldn't be bothered with eBay and I'd never had an issue with either payment or clubs being downgraded from the condition I had specified.

I'd be surprised if they just downgraded your set and then sent you out a cheque for the lower amount without at least calling/emailing first.

Might be worth giving them a call and having a chat.

I've sold to them loads of times. Their grading system is very well explained and i've never tried to wing it (not that i'm suggesting you have) so have never had any problems. Whilst they don't give huge amounts for second hand stock, they are solid, reliable and decent to deal with in my opinion.

I had a load of wedge and a putter that i've sent them last week, not heard anything from them about downgrading or payment being sent, do you get notified before they send a cheque? as its the first time i've used them

I assume you had a quote from them before sending them off.
I can't remember getting any notification after sending them off except the payments, which came pretty quickly if my memory serves me right.

Are you sure they are your clubs you can see? I thought my clubs had been downgraded but they were another set. My set took a while before going online.

Yeah sure as I can be they are mine. I read the descriptions of each grading and thought 7s all round was valid. Might give them a call to see if they can reveal what the payment will be.

I have two drivers to sell, to cover the cost of the one bought off a fellow forumer a few weeks ago. No one has bit on the For Sale section on here and I was about to put them on Ebay. I saw this thread and decided to give Golfbidder a go. Very happy with the two quotes given and I will be accepting the bids. I've been honest with the state of the clubs so hopefully they will stand by the offers. This could be the start of a beautiful relationship :D

There's a great shop local to me that's happy to buy, sell, part exchange, anything golf related

I sold a driver to them just a couple of weeks ago and they downgraded the ratings on it as well when it appeared on their site but I still got a cheque for what they quoted me.

I'm guessing they expect us all to overrate our own gear so build that into the quote plus every time I've heard of someone buying from them they have seemed to underrate the gear in comparison to what the buyer was expecting for its rating.

Creates happy customers on both the selling and buying side.

Are they generally better than Golfbidder with their prices and do they accept posted clubs? I have an almost pristine set of LH Nike Covert 2.0 irons to go.

Call them and discuss it and see what they are actually paying. I tend to take my clubs into them directly (and fortunate enough to be close enough to do so) and get an initial online quote and then discuss it once they've seen them and usually get anything from £30-50 more than the original quote.

Bit disappointed. Golfbidder have just emailed me stating that my two clubs have too many marks on them so they can not be accepted. No cost to me, they will ship back. Shame, I thought it had all gone very smoothly. Ebay here I come.

They sent me the full amount despite downgrading the rating of the heads. So as previously mentioned they must expect to have to downgrade and price it in.

Shame though cos I have another set to send which are in great condition but have been quoted on the low side. I'm going to phone them and send pics to see if I can eek a bit more out of the deal.

I had the same today with a SW - saying the shaft was too pitted to be able to sell, but if i wanted it back there was a £7.50 postage charge, or they could donate to charity on my behalf.

I wasn't too fussed about it as it was a bit touch and go on that one when i sent it anyway, so just waiting for the cheque for the rest.

Thinking of selling a Cobra Fly Z driver and fairway but have only one adjustment tool between the 2, has anyone been knocked down on price when doing this ?

The terms say you get knocked down if you don't supply headcovers but can't see any mention of the tools.

I have to say when I dealt with them they were a pleasure to deal with- got exactly what I was quoted on because I didn't over estimate what I was sending.

my last club a Titleist 915 driver though they offered on the low side at £90 and I ended up getting £157 selling the parts individually.... Head, headcover, wrench and shaft
