Looking for ideas for a week with the witch and kids somewhere in Scotland. It must be dog friendly and have some nice walks and some interesting things to do in the area. We usually always go to Arisaig for a week however we have decided to try something different this year for our holiday at home.

It can be caravan or cottage or cabin, not fussed at all. A real real bonus would be a golf course nearby as well!

Any suggestions please feel free and if you have a link then that would be good.

Elie or Kilconquhar closeby, Kilconquhar even has driving range. I know someone renting out a 3 bed villa with sauna conservatory etc in sept *wink*
The area is fantastic for dogs, walks, kids, golf and even has St Andrews 15 mins away.

The East Neuk of Fife is nice, golf, beaches, harbours, some attractions like Scotlands secret bunker, Kelly Castle, good chippies, St Andrews is quite close, even that seaworld place at the Forth railway bridge isn't far either. We stayed here http://www.lategetaway.com/uk/cottage.php?id=2564 for a fortnight once, was a very good holiday!

Seton Sands.
Close to Edinburgh and the East Lothian courses. Better if the kids are older.

Best cottage I have stayed at is at Plockton [MacDonalds Hol cottages if I remember correctly]. fantastic view over Loch Carron to Bealoch Na Ba towards Applecross.
Trouble is...not a golf course for miles!

Stayed in St.Monans last year, good walking, good golf, Crail is nearby and ST.andrews. Good walks for the dogs and kids. Scotland's secret bunker nearby, nice fishing village plus pittenweem and others nearby. A quiet village though, only 1pub. I think we stayed in a cottage called sea view, but may be wrong, cracking cottage though, slept 6.

Good place and you can hone up the bunker shots.
