Self Adjusting HC

I think I know the answer to this already, but just in case I'm wrong.

Hypothetical player and situation.

Start of week : HC 4.6
Tuesday : Plays in an open off 5 and scores 76 against a CSS of 73.

Self adjusted to 4.4

Thursday : Plays in an open off 4 and scores 80 against a CSS of 72.

Friday : Thursday's results are finalised, CSS calculated, and published to the away club's website.

The player is due to play in a comp at their home club on Saturday.
If the club connect to the database to collect/sync with the system to update handicaps, the players open results will be there and their handicap will be updated to 4.5

Am I right in thinking that if the home club don't sync before the comp on Saturday that the player plays off 4 for that comp?

Yes, you must self adjust down but not up.

Yep you cannot claim the point 1 even if results and CSS published only your club can give you that back

Home Club responsible for managing his handicap up. He's stuck with their timetable on it.

So might need to work the charm offensive on the competitions guy to update the handicaps when he sets the comp up Saturday morning

It's a hypothetical player - he can shoot what he likes. One less than everyone else is always good.
