Secondhand golf clubs

Callaway Preowned have some but they come from the States so may be liable to VAT etc etc...
Maybe the best way is to just keep scouring eBay...

Or find a set with the 5 iron you want, but it and sell your current set.......

Thanks again.

I can get one from Callaway here but it's £100 and I don't think I really need one as I've a couple of hybrids but have it in my head that I want one:o

that seems expensive, I've been quoted £60 from my local shop for a 4 iron from my set should I want one

That's what I thought as well but have no reason to doubt them. I know Callaway told me it would be done as a custom made one and to contact shop for price.

AG charged my friend £90 for an Aerobuner 8 iron that he lost on a course. the trouble is these type of clubs come in sets and aren't often broken up so finding single ones is hard.

Give Golfbidder a call. See if they can source one. They have a vast stock of 2nd hand clubs

Thanks. Tried them and they don't do single irons.

I know. Wish I'd thought about it earlier. Oh well, will carry on looking.

re buying from USA I think you only pay excise duty here if the value of the club(s) or goods is more than £135 in value inc postage, rate 2.5% so you can probably avoid that with a one club purchase. You will pay VAT however at 20% unless goods are worth less than £15 so they'll get you on that probably.

Not too bad and worth looking in the US unless postage is exorbitant as the unit price of used golf gear is normally cheaper there plus the exchange rate is quite good for us at the moment.

Thanks Amanda. I did wonder about doing that. May see if friends have got a 5 iron I can try to see what theirs are like.

Have contacted the callaway preowned to see how much postage would be on one club in case they get one in.

On facebook search "Par 72 golf" a guy that always has bits & pieces for sale. Golfs clubs selling page....put up a wanted ad...

drop these guys an email: http://www.valuegolfshop.co.uk/irons-other-30-c.asp

good luck

Cheers, have messaged them.

Hmm, can anyone help on import costs on USA. Looking at around $100 incl delivery which makes me think I may as well just stump up £100 for a new one from this end or do as HID says and forget it:(

try ringing the Complete Golfer and asking them.
Maggie is really helpful.
A lot of female golfers (me included) don't use a 5 iron so they may have retained one from a set sold
