Hi all

I'm looking at buying a secondhand electric trolley and have seen one on gumtree. I asked the seller what model it is and he's come back with

Powakaddy M50/38-12-GB10 code 50-004B

Nothing comes up for it on a Google search. Any idea what it might be?

From what I understand there was a period where the quality of the powakaddys being produced took a bit of a dip. If you contact Jim Murphy on the link below he should be able to let you know if the one you've listed above is one of them.

I think Jim also sells reconditioned ones so he may have something that would suit you.

I have no direct connection to the man, but last year he fixed a trolley for me quickly at little cost. He holds parts for the main trolley manufacturers so you don't have to pay for someone else to fault find.

Hope this helps.

I run a powakaddy freeway I purchased second hand about 7years ago, not a bit of trouble, just renew the battery every couple of years or so.
I have seen many of the newer models broken down for one reason or another, I do believe they started sourcing the mouldings from China and made them too complicated, a trolley just needs to go and stop, surely. I think this newer model is the Freeway II, the one with the 'dual handle'.

i bought a freeway 11 a few years back with a seized motor, and a letter from power caddy saying it needed a new motor.me being me and being a tight arse took the thing apart and found out that the only thing wrong with it was the bearing had rusted to the motor spline,4 quid at a local motor bike shop and all was well.
oh the axle did shatter on me a few months later, turns out this is a common problem with them, and a new upgraded axle again all is well.

Thanks all. He's confirmed it is a freeway, seems in decent nick and includes the cart bag, rain cover and bag for £80.
