Prizegiving Saturday night past, cleaned up and took home a massive 38 quid in SGU vouchers, trouble is what am I going to buy with this fortune?

I am leaning strongly towards a dozen Cally HX Tour balls which'll leave me enough for a pitch mark repairer and a few tees as well. Happy days!

Anyone else have any ideas what I could spend £38 on in a modestly stocked pro-shop without regretting it 20 minutes after I leave?

When spending sums of money similar to what you have at your disposal, 'buyers remorse' is always a side effect. I don't envy you birdie. Perhaps a lifetime supply of tees would eleviate the pressure you are under.Good luck, I am sure you will do whats right.

You can get a pair of shoes for that price nowadays, birdieman. A spare pair never goes amiss. Couple of wooly hats, maybe? Don't go mad, though. That's a lot of dosh to go spending in a oner.

How about 'The secrets of golf by David Blair DVD' - sorely tempted?

Save it until you need something mate, boring i know!

Wait until it starts to get warm again and get yourself a nice new polo shirt for the summer.

Keep it and who knows, say your prayers and eat your vitamins and you might even have double next year then you could buy the shop outright!

Keep it, you never know when it will come in handy. I was -100 quid at one point this year but have got back to level simply by having lots of twos, Id have hated to have seen how bad it could have gotten without them!

Going skiing in January so maybe I could find something in the pro shop that'll help on the slopes? Maybe a cheapo putter could double up as an avalanche probe?

Where are you heading for JF? I'm off to Saalbach for a week, maybe I should go find a ski forum, it's -2 and very icy out, not my kind of golf weather.
HTL is out playing golf in England somewhere in his Wilson polo shirt! Hardy soul.

I doubt bookies take 'em, some retailers do but you'll get some funny looks trying to cash them on the High Street.
St Anton - been there 10 years ago - picture perfect Austria, nice and steep too! Crazy Kangaroo pub is good apres ski!
Like the video - especially those litre jugs of lager at the end, can't remember are they called steins or maas?

How about a nice club jumper - ideal for this time of year. Put it towards a spare pair of shoes (always handy in winter) a set of waterproofs or luck you suggested some balls.

The most important thing is not to dwell on possible buyers remorse but savour the delight in handing over the vouchers in the knowledge that on that particular day you were the best golfer in the club
