With the very near close of the season what are you all doing to improve for next year, I'm going for the Six Million Dollar Man approach, bigger, better stronger.

Phil

Moving club to one much nearer to home, so I don't have an hour's drive each way whenever I want to play. Should mean I'll get to play more often, which in turn should yield some improvement in my game.

Consistency off the tee has been my downfall this season. I've been hitting it longer by shortening the swing and losing the tension. Also been making decent shoulder turns which has helped my distance. Just can't seem to repeat the good swings hole after hole.
Knock it into the rough stuff and it ruins the chance of a good score. Even considered leaving the big club out of the bag but I like it too much.

Putting has been pretty fair on the longer putts. 5 - 10 ft putts - too many missed.

Over the closed season will be practicing the above and maybe a a few lessons. Surely the handicap will tumble as my iron play has improved vastly and my short game has pulled me out of the doodah on many occasions.

Better ball striking this year but not produced it in competitions. Up from 10.1 to 11.3 and so B- for my season. Plenty of stuff to work on but happy that I've played with less technical thoughts and more freedom so that's a plus point

How is that a B-?

Just need to work on getting some consistency in my game, at times i can play golf to a lot lower h/c but i have too many horror holes that ruin my round at the moment.

I am hoping my improved swing over the summer giving me extra carry and more distance will allow me to tear up a short winter course. My place drains well so if we have a dry spell I could be looking at a nice handicap cut between now and March. I love winter golf and I cannot wait to wrap up and head out on those chilly still winter mornings!

Most probably try to work on my core strength and flexibility. Fitness and flexibility have long been an issue for me but with my new found passion for running the fitness is better but the core strength and flexibility still leave a lot to be desired. The problem is, I've always found that stuff quite boring so it's going to take some dedication.

Well I have a driver fitting on Wednesday, so it's get used to the new driver... If its any good it should be a case of just working on hole strategy and where to hit the driver. But generally keep everything loose and supple, rest any injuries avoid DIY and anything that could lead to injuries. Practice the putting stroke ( I need to after this weekend :( ) have a lesson in January to just get any niggles seen or bad habits stopped. But mainly just chill out and play for fun, meet new people.

I've been generally happy with my tee to green game this year but my short game inside the last 70 yards or so hasnt been brilliant as too many of my pitches and chips are leaving me 20 footers. My plan for the winter is to work on my chips/pitches to try and get within the 8-10ft range of the pin so that I'm putting for par rather than bogey, this I'm sure will knock a good few shots off my Hcp.
