Season competition ideas

Myself and a group friends having been playing a small eclectic tournament over the course of the season for the past three years.
The format works well but think its time to change it up as a couple of guys have pulled out this years competition.
The format of the current competition is as follows:

• Full handicap allowance
• Only medal rounds will be counted
• Only rounds played off either white or black tees will be counted
• Trophy awarded to the lowest score at the end of the season
• Trophy awarded for the golfer with the most 2's at the end of the season

The past couple of winners(ie me) have been a higher handicap player(16) and with my handicap going up last year i was getting more shots than other players. Felt like a bandit last year.

Looking for a fresh format to get everyone involved again.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

Throw in an eclectic. The best score on each hole counts towards your lowest 18 hole score. For example, you play 10 times and your best score on the 1st hole, could be from the third week, counts for the 1st. Repeat over all 18 holes. It keeps people concentrating even when having a bad round as the target then becomes to improve on a particular hole. Don't use it as a main comp but a fun one to keep going.

How many in the group, you could go to 2 Divs if you have enough.

Only 7 for the time being but two might be pulling out this year, hence the reason to try and change it about

You could just add a gross trophy, for the lowest score without handicap allowance. Or you could award points for the player with the lowest score on each hole, 2 pts if he is the lowest overall, 1 pt for a shared lowest score.

That's why I would not make a good solicitor. It's all in the detail.

One not award points per comp, with say 10 to the winner, 9 for second etc, but have a maximum number of qualifying events so the best ones count

You could try a virtual match play knock out comp using the posted scores on HDID .

We use to have lots of individual matchplay bets against pals, not playing in the same group as you .

Just use the score card and SI index .
