Well its really the start of the season this weekend - or maybe next.

Has your course got Tining scheduled for this or nexr Monday as well?

I know 1 course that has - Sutton Green - and they were rolling really well on Wednesday too!

Always seems to be just when Greens are in the best condition that it's tome to 'do them some damage'! But without this work, those that need it would be thatchy and sparse in Summer!

We had our done on monday and it has not interfered with play or putting at all. They are noticeably better within a week or so of tining

Perfect time to do it - weather is getting warmer , lots of water underneath to help the grass really grow.

Right not greenkeeper and clubs should be taking advantage of the recent poor weather and getting greens and fairways sorted

Sutton Green has impeccable greens all year round so i wouldn't question their decision to hollow tine.
Indeed they do! Exactly what I said to the Pro who apologetically/shame-facedly said that was what was going to happen.

Shame I couldn't take advantage of how good they were - and they were better than many courses get theirs ever! A joy to putt (badly) on. My excuse was that the pins all seemed to be on mounds/slopes - probably in anticipation of the rain that came on the 11th. Bargain for a tenner!

Ours was done couple weeks ago
Played last night and greens were canny for time of year plenty of grass on them couple cuts and they will be fine

Ours were done weeks ago.
Last week we played with them covered in the little gritty grains that make your balls go blue.
A few days later we played with them covered in sand.
Then we had to hold up at several greens as the staff were sweeping them.
Putting speeds have changed from game to game.
A bit of a pain for a few weeks along with temporary tees and mats but.... they'll soon be superb and we'll have to learn to putt properly all over again.

ours start Mon 7 April - it is normally first week hence thought it was this week. Timing seems weird this year as we have our Masters tournament next Sunday - which is usually the last day of the Masters, hence the name and a lot of drinking afterwards!:confused::confused:
