Searching for original ball after playing wrong ball

Scenario: ball struck into area of rough. After 3 mins searching a ball is found and played, only to discover that it was the wrong ball. So now we start looking again for the original. How long do we have - the remaining 2 minutes, or does the 5 min clock start again?
