As some will know from another thread, I have just bought a High Speed camera.

I will be using this to record my swing as well as for taking lots of pictures and standard videos.

Can someone recommend an SD card for me, or advise what I should be looking for?

I guess I'll need a high spec one with huge memory and speed?

Just read the manual. It says to use an "Ultra High Speed" card.

So- which is the fastest card out there?!

Any class 10, you will not see a difference IMHO as an amateur snapper between a class 2 and a class 10. But if you are like me, you want the best! LOL the 2 in my post above are class 6 and class 4.

Class Minimum performance
Class 2 2 MB/sec
Class 4 4 MB/sec
Class 6 6 MB/sec
Class 10 10 MB/sec

In my old Casio if I used a slow card then it limited the shots per second it could take, and with the video it couldn't be written to the card fast enough, so ended up skipping frames.

You'll need the high speed so that your super slow mo camera can write to the disk quickly. If you have a slow speed card, you won't get as many frames per second, not because the camera is limited, but because the card is.

I've a DSLR, which can take shots at 3.5 fps which a standard SD card is fine, but if you have a super high speed camera, you need a faster access card.

At 1000 fps, I think you want the biggest and fastest card there is!

I use 4x 8Gb SanDisk Extreme SDHC's in my Nikon D90. 30Mb/s class 10. There are faster cards out there, but I've had no problems taking burst photos at Silverstone of the MotoGP

8Gb's are about £10, 16Gb about £15 now. I paid £18 for 8Gb a couple years ago.

Rather than "eggs in one basket" using 1 card I'd sooner use multiple cards.
