I'm going home!

How many time's has this thought gone through your mind. Today went for a practice and all the things I thought had clicked last night failed tonight. Poor striking, poor putting, poor everything. The only thing I was good at was losing balls. 3 rounds on three quality courses coming up at the end of the week and what little game I have has gone AWOL. Reward if found.

I know the feeling, today I had the worst round ever, too many swing thoughts in my head from the lesson the previous day, its days like that you count the holes till you get home. Although theres nothing like it when your on a good day.

Wanna play for money next week? ;)

Don't/try not to get too fixated on it, it will only create more pressure which will make it harder.

Never have more than 329 swing thoughts in your head when making a shot:fore:, none at all is preferable if you've had enough practice to make your swing automatic...that's my theory anyway and it SOMETIMES works for me.

Do you not know how to fix your problems?

I feel your pain Palindronic.......

I think there is one sure fire way to fix min at the min Bob ... pack it the heck in ... too stubborn to do that tho ha .. playing dirt .. on the 6th yesterday i just wanted to walk in .. (bogey, bogey, bogey, birdie , double, bogey ,) fun just gone .. but il try practice a bit & play through it .. there is a game inside me , its just hiding very very well at the mo .. Feck it ts only a game ...

That was exactly my fix, a week ago on Friday i played, had 15 pars, then on Saturday Nr'd at the 10th. Was so fed up, i only stayed out because my playing partner was doing well. I had got to the point i was so tired with work etc i wasn't enjoying playing. So i took the a week off from golf and am raring to go again. Played 9 last night, played absolutely terribly but really enjoyed it. Sometimes it's better to distance yourself from it for a few days

I often wish I could just walk away from the game!! Unfortunatly I am a golfer (my game would suggest otherwise!) and the game is in my blood. I just can't help myself.

Either that or I just love torturing myself.

I know how you feel!

The other week I played a round with my mate, it started off brilliantly, Par, bogey, par then the wind came up and it started to rain, the tempreture dropped and my game went to hell, 4th was a mulligan, 5th lost ball, 6th drop shot and a 7.

My mate was playing like it was a calm sunny day, he couldn't anything wrong, it wouldn't have surprised if he'd fell into a pile of poop, came up smelling of roses holding a suitcase full of crisp £50 notes.

To make it worse, he was hitting his shot and while he waited for me, he'd put his club back into his bag and as soon as I'd hit the ball he was off up the fairway. Now I'm not the fittest of people, so part running to catch up I was puffing like a broken winded cuddy while setting up for my next shot, which was inevitably duffed.

By the time we got to the 9th playing golf was the last thing on my mind, I was cold, wet well and truly pissed off and just wanted to walk off, then to make matters worse as we played down the 9th it started to fecking snow!!!

Played rubbish the last time out as well, but I've not played at all last week, can't this week, because I'm on call and there'w nowt worse than trying to put out when your phone rings because the network has gone down.

Got a lesson on Saturday coming, my next round will be on the 3rd, so practice at the range, have my instructor point me in the right direction and I'm looking forward to the 3rd.

cheers
Dave

PB I was there yesterday. Had a lesson Wednesday, range and course the following 2 days hitting sweet as. Comp yesterday and 26 points with 4 blobs... it was woeful. If it wasnt for me holing a few putts it would have been a lot worse. I hit 4 o/b pulled tee shots! If it wasnt the fact it was only a few days after my lesson I reckon I would have just walked off after 9 holes :(

Back to the practise and forgetting playing any rounds for a week or 2
