Looking at getting my dads scotty restored for him, have spoken to the guy at the putter room, peter, he has quoted me £100 to restore the head plus fit a new grip. Is this a decent price for it? Is it worth doing considering its half the price of a new one.anybody dealt with this guy or coukd recommend me a place to get it sorted?? It's basically chipped and gone a bit rusty due to him being careless!! And not having a cover on it.
The putter is a scotty Cameron pro platinum, Newport, midslant.

If it is badly chipped, that damage may not be easy to fix. Rust and surface marks are easy.

Your other choice is to send it to Scotty Cameron in California. You can get a straight restoration or get custom stamps and colours added, and get new custom shop only grips and headcovers. You only need to send the head of the putter, as the restoration includes a new shaft.

Not a cheap option, though.

Have a look here: http://www.scottycameron.co.uk/customization/default.asp

i've used the putterroom and the work they did was pretty good, though it wasn't particularly cheap.

in the past my pro has sent my putters back to titleist (not to Scotty Cameron's custom shop) for refurb and they've come back looking amazing. the price has been pretty consistent with putterroom so that's the method I'd suggest.

i'd go with finding a local titleist dealer and get them to send the putter for restoration. you'd maybe have to ring around to check they'd do it, but it should save postage costs. they'll fit a nice new grip and give you a new cover included.

if you want different colour paintfill etc, you'd have to do as Ethan suggests and send it to Scotty's custom shop.
