I am thinking about getting a button back does anyone have one? if so what is the feel like on them compared to the deep milled version?

You are the richest golfer in the world aren't you? Never used one, but I know they cost a mint. I very much doubt that they will offer value for money benefits against your current putter, which you are never going to part with. Your words sir.

who said im getting rid my my newport just adding to collection lol, PS im not rich just dont smoke, drink or have any social life...

the button backs are nice, feel like butter off the face and ultimately are collectable. I would try to find a used one, as like a new car, once you use it its value depreciates, so if you can find a used one in good condition, go for it.

i think it would be tough to find one of these for less than £600, they are generally the limited edition collectors editions which few people actually use on the course, or tour editions which will be £1,000.

given that most tour pros are using deep milled i can't see that you'll be getting much advantage for the outlay, and you'll be very unlikely to find one you can test out before shelling out.

possibly try a terylium insert model as a more reasonable compromise? or just use Pro V1's?

surely the "feel" of a putter that expensive is lost if you're putting with an AD333 or a velocity?

What one are you after? the newport or the Newport 2? I know of someone selling a GIP BB NP for around £500, and there is a used NP2 on ebay at the moment
