Merv79 and Rickg are both playing in this event at St Andrews this weekend, good luck guys play well

Would love to have joined you but I have a more pressing engagement :D

Merv and I played the Dukes in August.....7,500+ from the back tees

Had a great time at this event, so lucky with the weather!

We played off blue tees which is around 7000 yards, course was in good condition, only negatives was standard of the greens (I seem to remember they were very good when I played in Aug) and stones in bunkers which appears to be a real problem now.

Agree the course is probably not everyone's cup of tea due to the sheer length and terrain involved, but as an inland layout I thought it was very good. I feel there is a good variation of holes and it definitely tests your whole game!

Would love to see this event on a good links course next year but would happily go back to the Dukes again!

CSS was +6/+6 and +4, should be s 0.3 cut for me :)

Does the Dukes count as St Andrews ?
Is it not a bit like Prestwick [Glasgow] airport?

Not one of the best courses I have played, half mile walks between tees etc.
They have the cheek to call it 'heathland' as well......tattie land would suit better I think.

A bit like the Troon municipals calling themselves links then.................
