I didn't see it either, listened on Radio Scotland.
Apparently it should not have been a penalty against us a Soutar headed the ball onto his own hand. 🤣

Presumably it was reviewed by VAR, although that means nothing. Who knows what constitutes a legitimate handball these days?

Good result for Rangers against a top European team.

Bit of a clog fest at Pittodrie
Exciting though, classic Scottish Cup match. ATM 2-1 to the Dons.
Warnock must be amused by it all.

The national team have recalled Craig Gordon to the squad for the forthcoming friendlies. As he is 41 and has only played 3 times this season, can we expect a call up for Alan Rough and Jim Leighton in the coming months? o_O

Dreadful goal for Rangers to concede from their own corner. Thought Benfica looked there for the taking until that.Alternatively, decent performance from Rangers but the better team went through.

Alternatively, decent performance by a team from Scotland but the better team went through as expected.

No complaints best team won on the night.
BTW tonight's goal was the only one they scored in open play, the others were an own goal and a penalty.

McCoist had mentioned a few times that the defence were too far forward and leaving themselves open.
But Que Sera sera, now concentrate on the domestic games.
Fingers crossed some of the injured are back soon.

Rangers were good in the first half and early second but the class told sadly. The goal was one that looked miles off in real time but marginally on in slow motion. Benfica are a different level and the fact it was so close shows the progress that has been made at Rangers. Hopefully they can kick on and win the title.

Don't disagree that Benfica are a level above Rangers in terms of budget etc, but I thought both teams were poor last night.

Rangers kept playing a crazy high line, I think it was 3 times Benfica almost scored from a Rangers corner. Was disappointed Rangers didn't really create anything after Benfica scored.

Bottom line is Rangers have beaten far better sides in Europe in recent years and last night was an opportunity missed. Benfica are in a bad run at the moment, Porto beat them 5-0 2 weeks ago.

Don't doubt Rangers will win the league as Celtic have been muck for months. Very lucky to beat Livi last week, Hart made a very good instinctive save in the last 10 minutes to stop Livi going 3-2 up.
