Hi Guys,

I haven't never used a driver, and i am wondering what do you recommend.

Scott stocks Vega, KZG, Taylormade. Etc

I am getting fitted on Thursday, and just thought i would ask the question.

I hit my 3+ ERC Wood approx 230 yards, so i would like to get to approx 250 ish with a driver.

I like the look of the new taylormade drivers.

I hit a left to right shot, so i would like a little help to go a little straighter ( lol ) not asking to much.

Save yourself some time and just get a bog standard one off the shelf as recommended by a pile of choppers off here cos you obviously don't trust Scott's custom fitting!:mmm:

If you are getting 230 out of your 3+, you should be looking for 270+ out of a properly fitted Driver.

And which of the 14 clubs already in the bag are you going to drop for it?

Wouldn't have a clue what shaft would suit but I'm picking the head will be a KZG one.

Thx Foxholer,

For your constructive post, i think i will be dropping my 7 ERC wood.

I just wanted to hear peoples thoughts on what they are hitting, distance, shot shapes, how easy they were to hit, etc.

Nothing more, Simples......

I might also predict the suggestion of a Hybrid to replace the 9-wood. Nakashima make pretty good ones of those and, apparently, so do KZG. Both these brands are 'favourites' of fitters (so I'd add Nak, and maybe even Wishon, to my 'KZG prediction').

If you go in with an open but cynical/demanding mind, I'm sure you will get fiitted well - as opposed to 'fitted up'. A 'proper' fitter should also be prepared to correct any 'didn't work out' result that can happen for many reasons. From what I've heard elsewhere, I'm pretty certain Scott is that sort of fitter, so have confidence.

It took over 2 hours to get fitted for my irons. Scott has also fitted my wedges, sorted out my bounce etc. So i hope it all goes well with the driver. As i believe its different swing, stance etc.

nowt wrong with hitting left to right so long as it isnt too extreme. Sometimes just got to accept we all have a natural shope shape :D

As for a custom fitting ive never had one personally ive hit a few clubs before buying and hit my irons off a strike board but that was about as far as it went.

Have fun and keep us updated on what you pick

Thx thecraw, Has it always been like this on this forum.

You get a good few A-holes on here, a good many may even tell you I'm one of them!

To be fair you walked into this one as you ken fine well that what Scott offers is second to none and he'll fit you to the best of your capabilities with his skills and knowledge.

Good luck and keep us posted. When I have some more free dosh I'll be going back through to get my iron shafts sorted out.
