Has anyone played there recently? I've been offered a space on an outing of some sort but I've been told that the greens are pretty poor, something to do with the sprinkling system not working.

Like anyone else, I would be pretty cheesed off if I took time off to play somewhere that's struggling and with all things considered there's really no excuse after the summer that we've had to date!

This could well be a load of ol tosh but some insight would be appreciated 👍🏼

Played a couple of weeks ago, felt it was a bit untidy around the edges. Greens were slow but true. I was a bit disappointed with it if I'm honest which is a shame because it's good layout

Cheers Val, there's nothing worse than knocking a course but the guys that were there recently said that it was dire 🤔 ... I'll see how things go at work but if I'm busy I'll dodge it for now.

Its not a bad course but I think they struggle to keep it in top notch condition which is a shame as it does have a few good holes on it.

I enjoyed it when we played there on our autumn jolly last year.

PM Steve he's a member there i think ...( Stevenk1969 i think he's forum name is)

For info ... I bumped into a couple of guys that played a golf in Scotland outing there recently and they've confirmed that it's a midden and that's me being polite!

Thanks for the heads up though - I don't see the point in playing a course that's carrying a cr@p condition label so I'll body swerve this one 👍🏼

You know the script that you don't bad mouth somewhere unless it's really warranted, sounds like some folk aren't impressed!

No drama though, I couldn't care less about Scotscraig and it's only a day out that I'm missing ... Nobodies died 😉

To be honest I played it couple year back it was in cracking condition. Lovely lay out too.
I would be proud to be a member there. Lovely clubhouse as well

Haven't played Scotscraig for many a year but it was always one of the highlights of our trips to that area and was always in fantastic condition whenever we played it.
Shame if the greens are as bad as people are reporting, but it doesn't alter the fact that it is a great layout.
Visited Broadstone a few weeks ago, and the greens were dire there in comparison to Ferndown and Parkstone. But as a course, it was the best of the three.

i also have played scotscraig on a few occassions with a forum member and the course has always been in great condition , yea the bottom part of the course had some drainage issues , but the greens staff have worked hard to resolve the problem..they were also undertaking a major long term maintenance programme .for some forummer`s to come on here and slate the course without knowing the circumstances behind the less than perfect course i think is poor show ..we all play or members at courses that at time to time where work is getting done around the course ..but we don`t come on here and slate them .

To be fair I think it's best to let folk know that the course is not at its bests if they ask rather than let them play it and waste their money. How would you feel if you asked about a course and got told it was good only to find out after playing it that it was poor?

I think id rather find out for myself ,that person may have played very poorly and was just looking for an excuse saying it was rotten, as Patrick had said why not Pm and ask my opinion and let me give an explanation to how the course is and what work had been done, maybe thats to simple.

Why not phone the club yourself and ask them first hand rather than ask then giving a course a pasting on a forum? Embarrassing behaviour, well done

Where are you a member out of interest?

Wind you neck in you clown, I never slated the course just replied to comments that had been made from guys who had played it.

And for your information I play out of Glenearn. Anything else ?
