Guys,

I've spoken to Dodger and J_F and offered to try to organise numbers/accommodation/transport etc for the event. Looks like Dodger has already got all the golf stuff sorted out (top marks, well done). John_F always does a fab organisational job for the scottish meets so he is officially having an event off and has promised to "drink copiously" instead. That seems like a good plan.

I'm trying to get a handle on numbers and so far I reckon we have:

Scotland (8)

Dodger
John_Findlay
DCB
SS2
Toad
Madandra
StuartD
Atticus_Finch

England (9)

IMO2
TonyN
Murphthemog
Tincup
gjbike
Vig
Robo
viscount17
Doh

I may have included or excluded names by mistake for which I apologise in advance.

Rather than have this thread turn into a massive epic, can those on the list please PM me to let me know

- if you are definitely planning to come
- where you are staying
- your contact email and mobile
- your current handicap.
- which country you are representing (this should be obvious but you never know)

Thanks
Andy

Well, why should all you guys have the fun. Seriously, this is the first winter that I’ve played for around 25 years. I usually stop at the end of October, hibernate, then come out when the sun shines (there’s a laugh) around April. Basically I’m making a bit of an effort, saves me from playing catch up, playing quite often and I’ve even had my HC cut from 7 to 6 this year already. ………yes the January medal, played last Sunday, was lifted by Tomo.

Tommo21,

Well done, that's a good start to the year. Just keep the form going until Goswick and you can carry me in the fourball ! :D

Right fellas I have finalised details for the 20th/21st Februarys Scotland v England Golf Monthly Ryder Cup Golf Meeting.

The 36 holes of golf (18 Friday and 18 Saturday) plus a 2 course after round meal on Friday is a total of £40 all in (£30 for Golf and £10 for Food). We have space for a maximum number of 20 players so would be good if we could get that number.

Friday we have 5 times booked with the 1st tee off time being 11.52am.
Afterwards we have a 2 course meal booked.(I think everyone is staying over but if not and if you are not stopping for food on Friday please could you let me know so I can keep the kitchen right with numbers?)

Friday evening hopefully all staying over in Berwick will meet up to discuss the 1st days Golf over a few ales in town.

Saturday morning we have again got 5 times booked,1st tee time being 10.22.

We are thinking that one day we may play better ball matchplay and the other maybe a team combined stableford format with individual prizes also but we need to give it some thought but if any of you have any further ideas to be considered please let me know.

My course in the winter always play off winter tees but always to the normal summer greens but the Greeny has kindly agreed to set the course up so we will play off the full Summer Medal tees so basically the Summer course will be played.(he also offered the championship tees but I figured 6800plus yards in February would play more like 7200 so plumped for the Medals!)

My old man has kindly agreed to announce us onto the tee both days so look forward to hearing 'on the tee representing Scotland John Findlay' etc!

Sadly time and costs have worked against any of the GM team joining us but a wee feature report along with pictures of the match will still be featured in one of the magazines after the meeting.

Finally can I ask all of you to get in touch with SS2 if you havnt already done so and let him know if you can or can't make it and also get in touch with me if you need any help with anything whatsoever.

Looking forward to it,let's just hope we get some decent weather to enjoy it in.

Subject to Toad's confirmation, Scotland are now a full team of 10: 8 forumers plus J_F's mate Pete and my mate Fraser.

Hopefully we can get Doh to confirm for England and get one more to make it a sell-out !

Don't forget, sensible stuff only in this thread: slaggings and jokes about kilts/morris dancing/haggis/bowler hats... yadda yadda yadda in the banter threads pls.
