Hi to you all.

That got your attention!

Yes i did in an 18 hole pitch an putt comp at my club here in South West France.

My question is what is a good score for 18 holes with distances from 100 metres down to about 45 metres.... normal greens, so its like 18 up and downs!

I play off 10.5 but thought i might have got to par (54)

What do you all think would be a good score?

You cant expect to par all hte holes just because there a par 3. Like one of our pro says its not the par 5s or 4s that make your scorecard look bad its the par 3s where if you miss a green its hard to make par but you have much more on your mind on a par 3. You also have many more traps and hazards to contend with.

Salut, nice score but its impossible to compare it to a proper course. I know when I drive well I score well, when I don't its a nightmare; and for all the talk of saving shots from 100 yards in its the long game that separates the low handicappers and pros from the rest of us hackers.

You play off 18 Mono and shot level par, he plays off 10 so good chance he'll shoot level par also.

Would you agree?

Try playing Bootle m8, you'll shoot level par there easy.

^^^ PMSL! :)

As for the OP, obviously it depends on what area of your game you perceive to be a strength, but say for example your short game usually lets down your long game. If this was the case you would be able to take great heart from the round. You know that your short game is in good nick and you have a decent chance of getting it down in 3, at the very most, when you have got yourself into a position within 150 yards from the green. This means on the majority of par fours a drive of 220-230 yards down the middle is leaving you with an all but guaranteed par, based on this performance. This is the way I would look at it anyway...if it makes any sense at all! :D

Must be a tough school that Bootle, is that where all the big stars play maybe see them against Isleworth or Lake Nona on Sky Sports for the Tavistock Cup. As Jim Royale wouls say level par my a***. :D :D :D

It may be Bootle is another pitch and putt course like the one the OP played. Getting back on to the OP, most of these pitch and putt or par 3 courses have significantly smaller greens than normal and so there is a premium on hitting the target and getting up and down is harder as there is less room to work with.

Providing that score didn't include too many thrre putts or anything serious then I'd be relatively happy

It is my normal course with the normal greens!

Distances set up just for this comp.
