Thick question coming up but as still being fairly new I was looking at some scorecard results, it started with for example 1.6 / 2.4 / 3.NR 4.5, I take it the NR is a score not counted for the end total & another golfer who had a score & not a NR would win & how many shots is classed as a NR.

NR can be 'No card Returned' - self explanatory and should be an automatic 0.1

or 'No score Returned' for a hole, therefore no total for the round but a handicap adjustment may still be possible

In the example, 3.NR must mean there was no score for that hole.

In a medal that would mean the player cannot win, because he won't have a final score. In a stableford it would just be 0 points for that hole and would still be in the competition with a final score.

In either case, for handicapping purposes the NR would be counted as a nett double bogey, so up 0.1 or a cut is still possible.
