Last night my friend accidentally walked onto the side of the green in his everyday shoes (with heels) and may have left some heel marks. The ground was quite soft. I think he realised immediately his error but he wanted to know what damage he may have caused and how easily such marks can be repaired - especially with all of the rain overnight and this morning. How long to get the green back into tip-top shape?

A lot of golf shoes have heels? Must have been pretty damn wet for him to make impressions (unless he is a drag act?) but they should get patched up fairly quickly. As Scienceboy has said, just use the pitch mark repairer on the impressions.

I have 'a friend' who accidentally dropped his full can of budweiser on the green leaving a round indentation- he was devastated but after googling a few golf sites we found we werent the only people to have done so- to find likeminded souls that understood and knew how to support us was a very big comfort.

I was asking Novice the question in a light hearted manner

yes it was very obviously humour and directed at Smiffy, dont see why you thought I was being serious, is that the way this forum has gone with oversensitivity? I blame the government.
