Many, many years ago, I had a round of golf following a bout of flu - I was so weak that I could not hit the ball but rather just went through the swing hitting the ball in the passing. I felt every ball on the club face, less distance but all shots on target - a round I have never forgotten. This was less to do with scoring, I do not remember my score but I can remember THAT golfing feeling.

IT HAS RETURNED!!

For the last ten holes on Sunday afternoon I hit all shots, I would suggest slightly shorter than normal but feeling the ball on the club face again and the feeling was ......awesome!!

Now I play golf to a fairly high standard, only my putting is the real problem re handicap .. but this ball striking is the most exciting I can remember and speaking of remembering I hope my muscles remember their Sunday behaviour!!

Roll on Friday and Saturday for more enjoyment or will it be sad same again if 'it' has flown away.

Not had many rounds like that in my life. Every now and again when I hit it sweetly the club does 'talk' to you and it's great. Find that I get loads if feedback from my Scotty when putting. Is this just because I hit putts more consistently off the middle of the face? I know when I have hit a shocking putt just from the sound the ball makes off the face and the dead feel of it.

Hope your sensory heaven continues

good feeling isnt it to 'feel' the shots off the sweetspot- hope it stays.

'high standard' is all relative, what does it mean to you?

I had that for about 5 holes on my stag do. Was so hung over I was concentrating on just not being sick. My swing was slow and I hit every shot fantastically. I was 1 over after 5 holes, which considering my handicap was a miracle. I soon started to sober up though and it all went to pot, but I'm not sure I can justify a life on the beer just to play decent golf.

Nothing new here. You're swing slower and swinging, not hitting.

I've started doing that alongside recent swing changes and I've never hit a better ball.
