Went to a flightscope fitting with Nike Covert 2.0 plus TM SLDR, Ping i25 and Callaway Big bertha.

The loft up campaign was just nonsense imo as 10.5* launched like I expected, way to high. Same with Ping i25 and Callaway.

Went through 9.5* and 10.5* heads and shaft combos. Even went down to an 8.5* covert tour which gave decent numbers.

But overall the best I could get with all this new tech was 1 yard avg better than my current 9* driver.
best Dispersion was nearly a mirror of my own club.

Great affirmation. Fitter was a gent and very helpful.

Thanks for saving me a ton of cash as nothing is way better than I currently have overall.

p.s I would never pay £378 for a driver even if it gave me 25yds more and laser straight.

Yeah, shame I hit it like a Dog........

But that's some serious coin for any 1 club....and would the upgrade shaft actually make that much difference?

At our level ? I very much doubt it - or at the very least not enough difference to justify the price

Great result indeed, just goes to prove newer isn't always better for everyone.

On the other hand a friend mine just got fitted for an SLDR and went from 9.5 on his R11 to 12.5 gained an average of 15 yards with better dispersion, so he's a happy bunny.

Personally I don't see the problem in someone spending £380 on a club if that's what they want, it's their money after all

Fair play to the fitter for not pushing you into anything. Some serious bucks for one club I'd hit a max of 12 times at my place and significantly less in the summer. No way I'd ever consider spending that much

Ping Rapture V2 9* Diamana S £60 second hand:whoo:

The Rapture V2 is two rounds old in my bag, and dodgy out-to-in swingng aside, when I middle it, it feels bang on. Very impressed. And although I won't be near your driver performance CMAC, good to know that pound for pound the rapture holds it own!

Love it, great result.

It scares me to think what I would spend on a driver that was 25 yards longer I laser straight..... Lots!... Car money.
