Never knew that!!! I told you all the story of him and Faldo playing a practice round on a Saturday afternoon at Royal Wimbledon a couple of weeks before he flew out and won it. He and Faldo signed my golf club diary so it is indelibly linked in my mind

Tomo21 I think you are wrong--my understanding is that NO ONE who won the Par 3 won the Masters that year.

I think Sandy was the greatest Shrewsbury golfer in my lifetime.....unless the kid at my club who's just scored a 64 gross counts....although having said that Woosie knocked it round Shrewsbury G.C. in about 62 a few times.
