I'll tell you this afternoon as I'm off for a swipe or two to try to sort my awful putting out!!

Hold the line caller..........

Fancy getting a few SAM Putt Lab sessions myself. Doing a lot of experimenting with my putting stroke atm, and have settled on the claw grip for now. Seem to have a much better feel for distance, and seem to be able to find the middle of the face more consistently. Quite enjoying playing around with my putting.

I've had one and it really helped me to see the numbers behind everything. I take the putter away outside and pull across the line meaning that I miss a lot of putts left. It's helped me work on having a more pendulum like putting stroke. I also delofted the putter slightly so I wasn't getting the ball rolling early enough, so I would tend to suffer on uneven greens.

I know use an alignment cross on the ball and aim to deliver slightly more loft to the ball to aid roll.

It also helped my confidence on the good things - I have good tempo and tend to hit the ball centrally on the putter (this dropped off when I first altered the stroke but that's to be expected).

All in all, glad I had it.

They do measure your swing speed which tells you if you are decelerating into the ball.
And the swing path, and the angle of attack, and the clubface direction at impact and where the ball strikes the putter face. A bit like Trackman for putting actually

Very interesting.

I felt that my putter was a little long making my set up a bit cramped and that I fanned the face open thru the ball.

The readings showed that I aim left a tiny bit and my stroke then goes in to out with my strikes being a few mm towards the heel.

The good thing was that my consistency was 80+%.

A change of putter head and length made my aim come in to practically perfect. The path is still in to out but the strike point is nearer to the middle.

So - on the hunt for a new putter, some stroke practice along the skirting and a couple of elastic bands to tighten the strike point up.

I found it very informative - an hour well spent :)

I tried to get one session as it looks very informative and useful info, especially as I 'clunk' putts (infuriating) but the nearest lab is 85 miles away

Fancy getting a few SAM Putt Lab sessions myself.

I'd book / attend just one first rather than go for a whole course. I found it wasn't like normal range sessions where trackman is helpful every session. With the right instructor interpreting the data, the knowledge it gives is sort of 'deeper' and you'll find that you can apply it when practicing / playing where as the trackman insight can be most shot specific.

Do those of you who've also done a SAM session agree / help me explain?
