Thinking about a week next Spring in the Salou/Tarragona part of Spain. Would be pleased to hear of any experiences of courses e.g. Lumine, Bonmont, Reus.

Can't comment on the golf, but Salou is a wonderful place. Been there twice on holiday, it's clean, vibrant, busy (in a good way), well priced (from what I remember) and has a really nice stretch of beach & sea front. Close to the big water park (the name escapes me) too which is good for a day out.

Be sure to catch the laser & light show around the water fountain at the end of the beach each night, it's fascinating!

Just come back from a great three days in the region so fire away with any specific questions you have.

Lumine is the jewel in the crown. It's wonderfully conditioned, has three very different courses and offers great hospitality.

Bonmont is nice enough, and the last few holes are quite spectacular, but for me it just felt a bit resort like for the main part. That and gravel style bunkers put me off it a little.

My hidden gem and thorough recommendation goes to Costa Dauarda GC, which is a quintessential Spanish club with a great variety of tree lined holes.

Have a flick through my Twitter (https://twitter.com/jake0reilly) and you'll find a few pics to give you a better idea.

I've played at Lumine and both the main courses are very good, the Hills is the more spectacular and has a lot of elevation changes (hardly used a driver off the tee as its all about position) and the lakes is longer with a lot of water in play, the 9 hole course is a good bit of fun as well.

We went in September and the courses were a bit scrappy with a fair bit of hollow tining and sand on the greens, you will need a buggy for the Hills as its pretty far from the clubhouse and I'd probably get one for the Lakes as well.

Depending on what deals you can get I would go for it, we got 5 nights B&B in Salou plus 27 holes for 4 days (2 days included buggys) for around £400 as a yardstick.
