To those traveling North on Thursday, take care, watch the spedometer, especially on the A9. Remember, there are long sections of A9 North of Perth that are a 60mph limit.

There are roadworks between Stirling and Perth, so be cautious on that stretch. There only seems to be one set of Roadworks on the go at the moment further up the A9, just South of Drumochter , so the hold ups shouldn't be too bad.

For the Northern Irish contingent, hope the Ferry is on time. Watch out for the average speed cameras between Prestwick and South side of Kilmarnock. Once past Killie, it's not too bad.

Hopefully meet up with you all on Saturday at Castle Stuart.

Safe journey to all traveling.

Dave

today's flight went out into a perfect blue sky (the colour they call cerulean) so I am in hopes of tomorrow. I have a Plan Q should it all go base over apex at the last, it's ho for Stevenage station and "Räder müssen rollen für den Sieg"

see you guys!

Flight looks ok for tomorrow morning so the Transit van has been stood down.
Meet up with Vig & Co in downtown Aviemore tomorrow night for a nice curry and a couple of Irn Bru's so as to have a clear head for Spey on Friday.
Forgot to clean the clubs before I packed them away so bringing some good old English mud up with me.
Safe journey to everybody, look forward to meeting up
Rob

Smiffy,
Good Indian restaurant at the south end of Aviemore near the ski road turn.
If you don't want Indian there is good Italian La Taverna near there too.
Skiing Doo restaurant is very popular with the locals just uo from the Police Station.
Good ales in the Cairngorm Hotel bar. The Winking Owl has every malt there is I think.
Cafe Mambo is the most popular spot with the younger set. You can get Hoegaarden (oh yes) in there on draft but it costs a fortune!
Bridge Inn is good wee pub south end of village just up ski road.
good luck from a former Aviemore resident!

They'll not let you on the plane, will they? ;)

I'm now officially on holiday! Yeeehaaaa.

Picking up Bonto and AckerHurst 9am. Driving to & teeing off at Boat of Garten with them, Dave, Scott, Gerry and Clark at 12.30 and 12.40.

Meeting up with them southern softies at Aviemore sometime after the round for a beer and a bit of prematch GM v Clark's Bar sledging and probably a curry or something substantial.

Golf, golf, golf, golf for four days! And apparently my dad (in Nairn) says the weather's great. Woohoo.

Journey up from Bexhill was as they say a piece of piss. Spookily apart from the M25 pretty much the rest of the journey was painless and a very different experience to the recent bank holidays when the special roadworks and average speed cameras were in abundance.
Here's to cracking golf, cracking weather and less putts than normal.
