I have played both the old course St. Andrews and the Brabazon, with hopefully playing Lindrick later this year.

what other Ryder cup courses blew you away without getting carried away from with the hype.

Valderrama, absolutely stunning, had the course to ourselves (or felt like it at least). Got goosebumps playing 17. Didn't go for it in two as I'm not a big hitter and it was into a slight breeze. My playing partner did though (a European Tour winner) and stuck it to about 8ft. Awesome shot.

Played Gleneagles PGA, was rather underwhelmed. According to all accounts the other courses at Gleneagles are better. Also hated how far forward the tees were, I think when you pay that money to play a pro circuit course you should be able to play off whichever tees you like.

I'd love to play the Belfry, Valderrama and Celtic Manor.

you can, did you ask? I've played of the Blue tees there but always the whites as a minimum

Let's be honest. Recent UK RC venues are at pretty terrible courses - PGA Gleneagles, Celtic Manor, K Club and especially The Belfry. Walton Heath was the last good UK course used.

Absolutely spot on.
Played Gleneagles PGA and The Belfry........both not really up to the mark.
Walton Heath was first class.

Money talks unfortunately so we end up with courses that, although you would not call them poor, are a far way from the right quality.
