Yep think all three would get picked if they haven't qualified

Already a few possible rookies in the team so can see McGinley going with experience in his picks

Probably solid picks in Poulter, MacDowell and Westwood even they they don't get enough points. Love to see Jiminez make the team too (probably will). Lowry might get a bit of Irish love from his captain, but it would be awesome if there were Dutch and Finnish debutants.

Much as I like Westwood he's on a retched run of form, and he didn't exactly tear up the place on the last one either, so not sure he deserves a place.

Of the three named I would think Westwood's coat is on the shakiest nail.

Aren't the other two currently quite close to being automatic picks? If they do not make it I would think Poulter, McDowell and Gallacher would be good captain's picks.

I heard an interview the other day (I think it was with Bernard Gallagher), he mentioned that Westwood has told McGinley not to pick him unless his form improves dramatically.

I think Westwood knows the writing is on the wall. I think Poulter is a given but I'm really not sure who the other picks would be. Is GMac really paying that well. Is Jimenez a realistic choice. I wonder how many rookies we'll have and if he'll have to go for experience in the picks for some balance

If Westwood has spoken to McGinley and asked to be left out on form (of course there's nothing been said officially) then unless he becomes an automatic pick (unlikely) I reckon McGinley will respect his wishes so there's one out of the equation so who would come in for him as a potential pick

If Westwood has spoken to McGinley and asked to be left out on form (of course there's nothing been said officially) then unless he becomes an automatic pick (unlikely) I reckon McGinley will respect his wishes so there's one out of the equation so who would come in for him as a potential pick

If what is being said here about Westwood is correct then I think it speaks volumes for him. Would love to see him play his way on as I think we need his experience but not in the form he's in. Pouter isn't playing well at all which is probably more worrying.

I imagine Westwood would be a VC if he didn't make the side just to add some experience to the team room.

Donaldson has played like a twerp the last 2 outings, defo not on form at the mo

dont rule out Joost or Illonen, they are up there

dont rule out Joost or Illonen, they are up there

Looking at the list it's going to be hard for Donaldson to miss out

Luiten is just under a million away from the Euro list and 40 WC points - so would need possibly a major or WGC win to push him up into the automatics

Illonen is even further away

Think their chances of automatic are slim but McGinley could spring a surprise if either continued their good form
