EurAsia Cup Captains announced with 3 1/2 months to go (Darren Clarke & Jeev Milkha Singh)

Why do the Ryder Cup captains need 18 months of prep time for one tournament but the same person can prepare for the other in a fraction of the time?

What are they doing that doesn't get done for the Eurasia Cup

Caring?

The Eurasia Cup is tiny in comparison, look at how many Europeans will decline the offer of sweating their nads off in Malaysia for a week.

Is the Asian team for the Eurasia cup basically the same as the ROW in the President's Cup? If not, why not?

I'd like to see Europe playing the ROW team in an event and for a tri-series between the three teams.

I'd be particularly keen to see this in the women's game - a tri-series between Europe, USA and Asia/ROW - considering the extent to which Asians dominate the tour.

Paul McGinley said it was perfect practise for the RC and also allowed him to try out partnerships etc

There's only 4 Asians in the Presidents cup team and I'm not even sure if they are eligible for the Eurasia Cup if they're not Asian tour members.

thought that was an internal European event GB&I v Continentals?
Yep , Seve Trophy or the Vivendi (Seve) Trophy as its now called is GB&I V Continental Europe

They were going to call it the Jolly up for any1 that wants to come after the top players say no , but reckon it might affect ticket sales ..

Poor old Jose Maria has been pleading with the top pro's to play in it and save it , we will see how important or how much Seve's memory really means to the elite golfers now id guess ..

I don't think he was that popular with his peers at the time tbh.

Only have to look at the people at his funeral and people like Faldo in tears to see how they viewed the man

Quiet possibly ,
i was talking about the current crop who clutched their sleeves , touched the pictures & pointed to the sky's at Medinah [sp] & the last Ryder Cup .. actions speak louder than words (but not louder then £$€ seemingly)

I agree. The players at the RC were aware of the Seve legacy, especially in that event, but to be honest, travelling to Malaysia for a team event is always going to be difficult to fit into schedules for many of the top players and all players want some down time after a season away from families travelling and playing
