Whats everyones views in this years Ryder Cup?

Who will win?
Who will be the star of the show?
Will Celtic Manor be a sucsess in holding it as its the first time its been held in Wales?

I personally think that the Europeans will be far too strong for the Americans, and i think both Ricky Fowler and Rory Mcllroy will come out of it with flying colours and enhance both thier already high profiles in the world of golf. As for Celtic Manor I hope (as im Welsh) that it is a sucsess as there has been vast amounts of money invested in creating the course especially for this event.... and i hope it will put Wales on the golfing map.

I fancy a draw and the US keep the Cup. European Team does not look full strength to me, selection system is short-sighted and wrong imo.
I fancy Tiger to have a great RC, pressure is off him now, he missed the Tour championship so he'll be fresh and will enjoy this RC, probably tear up Celtic Manor. If Tiger plays with Stricker they'll be very tough to beat.
The course itself doesn't look any great shakes imo but with a hundred thousand people there it'll still be good.
Too late in the year imo but poorer weather will suit the Europeans better.

The first piece of good news is that Westwood is well on the way to recovery. Apparently he would have been ready if the RC was a week earlier, plus he has been training very hard and has lost a stone in wait.

I think the Americans might have a bit to much fire power for us. I agree with Birdieman and the dodgy selection system. We do seem a bit flat, although I am a great Casey fan. I hope Harrington does well, I like him but his record isn't that good in the RC.

I think the course could be a real classic, although I have only looked at it on the website, I haven't actually seen any golf on it but it does have some good challenging holes.

As for who will do well i think Francesco Molinari with his straight hitting could be very good pick as a star, I only hope his putting holds up, and Martin Kaymer. Nick Faldo was no fool when he took Kaymer to the last RC as his guest, he knew the guy had talent.

As for the Americans, well i like Hunter Mahan, and Matt Kuchar has been playing well. Not sure what you are going to get with Bubba Watson, good one minute awful the next, I think the pressure might get to him.

I fancy the europeans very strongly,i have just been watching the euro wins on dvd and its really giving me the buzz i hope the atmospere is as good as it usually is.My picks to have a great cup Kaymer and the Molinaries, out of the old stagers Westwood, cant wait, nearly as excited to play in the forum meet.

I'm with Birdieman. I think it will be far from the walk over everyone was predicting. I think the selection system is badly flawed too. Late in the season, the American team has shown some form, and is stronger than predicted.
Fasten your set belts, we are in for a bumpy ride. It's going to be fun though.

I think the conditions will favour the Europeans and I fancy a European win strongly.
No idea who will star, they are all capable and the nature of golf is that someone will hit form at just the right time.
As for the venue it will depend on the weather. The timing is strange and biggest danger is that it may be a washout or playing lift/clean/place etc. Hardly a good advert for one of the premier golf events.

Americans, they seem more down to earth and will relish being the underdogs.

Star performers, Tiger, Ricky Fowler for the US and McDowell and kaymer for Europe.

I still cant beleive its being played where it is when it is, it is gonna be cold and foggy so you you have to favour europe, but most of them play full time in the USA so it will be close

Some seem to have forgotten that the last 5 ET events were won by a member of our RC team.

Also 6 out of the last 7

AND

7 out of 10
8 out of 11

So what if the Americans are in late season form, we aren't in too bad nick either. It'll be a real tight battle IMO, I think we'll just edge it..........as long as the fog stays away.

I drive past the course on my way to my head office once a week on a road that looks down into the USK valley. Rarely can you see the golf course on an early morning in the winter due to low lying fog.
