He was foolish, as there's usually a time and a place for a joke, and that was not it!
It doesn't make him a racist though! Some people should just get over themselves!
We've all told jokes that could be labelled as offensive, haven't we?
In fact, most of the funniest jokes I know could be termed as offensive to someone, but no offence is intended when they are told and no offence is generally taken.
